Forget the workplace equipment. Who among individuals should worry about making sure their personal computers and software are Y2K compliant?
If you're a Macintosh user, rejoice. Macs are in sync with the date change, although there can be software problems (read on).
In fact, the date and time utilities that Apple Inc. has used in its Macs since 1984 should work right up to 6:28:15 a.m. on Feb. 6, 2040 -- although it never hurts to have the latest version of operating system software (now Mac OS 8.5) just to play it extra safe.
Everyone else should be wary.
