DENVER and CALGARY, Alberta -- Starchild Energy Systems Ltd. (Starchild), a Calgary-based oil and gas company engaged in the exploration and production of oil and gas in Western Canada, has retained Petroleum Place to market its farmout exploration property located in southern Alberta.

Starchild has assembled a significant block of petroleum and natural gas leases in excess of 7,200 hectares (17,700 acres) in the Triangle Zone of the Rocky Mountains of southern Alberta. An additional amount of adjacent freehold/crown acreage in excess of 24,000 hectares (60,000 acres) is also available within the 123-section Area of Mutual Interest (AMI). There are only fifteen wells located in the AMI; six of the fifteen wells represent relatively shallow cable tool tests drilled prior to 1922. The combined gas reserves potential (unrisked) of the multiple zone prospects exceeds 200 BCF, while the oil potential (unrisked) is several tens of millions of barrels. The farmout includes a ready-to-drill prospect (lease is prepared), and an infill seismic program, both of which qualify as flow through exploration expenses.
